Merchandising, order and finance controls from one policy model.

Commerce Gate checks your price, promotion, order, stock and refund actions against your policies before they commit, whether your store, ERP, repricer or AI agent sends them. One engine covers three functions: merchandising, order ops and finance ops, where refunds are the finance action checked today. Where your platform can stop an action, it does; elsewhere your tool honors the answer.

Refunds

How do I require approval before an AI agent issues a refund?

Set an unattended refund limit in your policy and have your agent ask before every refund: a refund within your limit and no larger than what the customer paid goes ahead, and a larger one waits for the approver you name. A refund above what is left to refund on the order is blocked, and each decision your refund policy makes is kept as a signed Decision Dossier you can verify without asking us. On Walmart, Refund Guard applies these rules before each refund you send from your dashboard and routes the larger ones to your approvers. Through the MCP or the API, your agent gets the same answer and goes ahead only when the answer says it may; your own tools send the refund.

Connect Walmart and your 90-day evaluation lists each refund that went above what its order had left to refund, with the amount, before you turn anything on.

Three functions on one gate

The same rules run on Walmart Marketplace, Shopify, Adobe Commerce, Business Central and the MCP. Each function says what it covers today and what is Planned or not covered yet.

Merchandising

Price changes and promotion changes.

What it covers today

Price changes are checked against your margin floor with marketplace fees counted. On Walmart and through the MCP, Commerce Gate answers and your repricer or agent acts on it; on Shopify, the floor is enforced at checkout. Shopify rejects an entered discount code that would stack below the floor, and Adobe Commerce cart and catalog rules are checked for expiry, overlap and stacking. On Walmart, a sweep of every published listing runs in Shadow Mode once Walmart grants item read access.

Not yet. Promotion changes on Walmart are not checked today; the MCP can check one in Shadow Mode.

Order ops

Order acceptance, fulfillment steps and stock changes.

What it covers today

A Walmart acknowledgment that breaks policy is withheld, Shopify and Adobe Commerce check at checkout, and Business Central release and posting are allowed or blocked. Ship and cancel on Walmart run when your operator confirms them. Stock changes are checked against your inventory floor before the write; Shopify records an after-order check.

Not yet. Returns: the MCP can check one in Shadow Mode, but no platform has a returns path yet.

Finance ops

Refunds today; payment release and vendor bank change are Planned.

What it covers today

Refunds: rejected above what is left to refund, sent to a named approver above your unattended limit, held when the line was already refunded, and sent on Walmart only when your operator confirms. The Dynamics 365 guard checks a complete transaction against your policy and an agent's budget and writes nothing in your ERP.

Not yet. Planned: payment release, vendor bank change, early-payment discount and credit-hold release. They will check in Shadow Mode only and never move money.

Procurement

SAP BTP side-by-side demo only.

What it covers today

A high-value purchase order change in the SAP BTP side-by-side demo.

Not yet. Demo only; not part of any plan today.

Commerce Gate and Decionis CommerceAgent authorize and record. Neither is a payment gateway, and neither processes payments, holds funds or moves money. The planned finance checks will authorize your ERP's release decision and record evidence; they never start, hold, route or settle a payment.

Inventory Guard

Check a stock change against your inventory floor before it is published.

Your ERP, feed or AI agent sends the quantity it is about to publish for a SKU, optionally per location. Commerce Gate answers whether it crosses your inventory floor and records the answer; each platform page says whether that platform can stop the write.

  • Current-to-new quantity, per SKU and location
  • Checked against your inventory floor
  • Every answer recorded

Price Guard

Catch the price that's under cost after fees before it reaches the marketplace.

Your repricer or AI agent sends the price it is about to push for a SKU. Commerce Gate checks it against your policy and, when you also send the landed cost, compares the net margin after marketplace fees with your floor.

  • Current-to-new price, before the push
  • Net margin after landed cost and fees
  • Your margin floor and approval thresholds

Order Guard

Hold the risky order, gate the refund, before anything is sent.

On Walmart, an order acknowledgment that breaks policy is held, and each refund is checked against your refund policy before your operator confirms it. An AI agent can ask about a fulfillment step, refund or return first; Commerce Gate never performs it.

Ship, cancel and refund are checked for a valid order state. A refund is rejected above what is left to refund, goes to a named approver above your unattended limit, and is held for review when the line was already refunded. Supported refund checks carry signed dossier evidence; ship and cancel run when your operator confirms them and are logged without a dossier.

  • Walmart order acknowledgment held on a policy breach
  • Refunds checked against your refund policy
  • Nothing sent until your operator confirms

Decision Ledger

Every recorded decision shows what was decided, when, under which policy version and for which tool or person. Policy decisions carry a signed dossier; the ship, cancel and refund actions your operator confirms on Walmart are logged without one.

  • Decision → Evidence → Policy → Outcome → Timestamp
  • A signed Decision Dossier you or your auditor can verify
  • One ledger for every recorded decision

Questions and answers

How do I require approval before an AI agent issues a refund?

Set an unattended refund limit in your policy and have your agent ask before every refund: a refund within your limit and no larger than what the customer paid goes ahead, and a larger one waits for the approver you name. A refund above what is left to refund on the order is blocked, and each decision your refund policy makes is kept as a signed Decision Dossier you can verify without asking us. What does Commerce Gate do?

Commerce Gate checks a commerce action against your policy before it happens and records the decision. Through the MCP, your agent can ask about price, stock, order, fulfillment, promotion, refund and return actions. The capability matrix lists which of those each platform can stop on its own.

Which business functions does Commerce Gate cover today?

Three functions run on one gate. Merchandising: price changes checked against your margin floor, and promotion changes on Shopify and Adobe Commerce. Order ops: order acceptance on Walmart, Shopify, Adobe Commerce and Business Central, ship and cancel on Walmart when your operator confirms, and stock changes checked against your inventory floor. Finance ops: refunds checked against your refund policy today; payment release, vendor bank change, early-payment discount and credit-hold release are Planned, will check in Shadow Mode only and never move money. Procurement is a SAP BTP side-by-side demo. Commerce Gate and Decionis CommerceAgent authorize and record. Neither is a payment gateway, and neither processes payments, holds funds or moves money. The planned finance checks will authorize your ERP's release decision and record evidence; they never start, hold, route or settle a payment.

Does Commerce Gate execute actions?

Only through the controls you turn on: it can withhold a Walmart acknowledgment, apply Shopify checkout rules, or check Business Central release and posting. On Walmart, ship, cancel and refund wait for your operator to confirm. Your repricer or ERP sends price and stock changes. The MCP checks and reads evidence and never writes to a marketplace or ERP. Approving a policy is not consent to act.

How does human approval work?

Where an action can escalate, it goes to the approver you name, who confirms who they are through your approval flow. The approval covers that one request. Your platform or operator still completes the action, so check its result separately from the approval record.

What evidence does a decision provide?

Where your platform records a Decision Dossier, it explains the decision and links to signed evidence, and a proof packet helps you review it. Some observations, outage fallbacks and operator-confirmed actions have no dossier. A record that a check ran does not prove the price changed, the order shipped or the refund completed.

Is Decionis Commerce Gate a payment gateway?

No. Commerce Gate does not process payments, hold funds, move money or handle card data, and it is unrelated to payment providers with a similar name. It checks whether a price change, stock change, order, promotion, refund or return clears your policy and records decision evidence where supported. Payments stay with your marketplace or payment provider. The same goes for Decionis CommerceAgent, the AI agent that drafts decisions for your desk, and the planned finance checks for payment release and vendor bank change: they authorize and record, and never move money.
