Hold the Walmart order you can't ship. Catch the price that's under cost after the fee.

Commerce Gate holds a Walmart Marketplace order acknowledgment that breaks your policy, so you don't cancel later and take the hit to your seller cancellation rate. For prices and inventory it answers, not acts: your repricer, ERP or AI agent submits the proposed change, gets PROCEED or HOLD with the referral fee and landed cost in the math, and must honor the verdict, because Commerce Gate does not write Walmart prices or inventory today. Ship, cancel and refund run as actions an operator confirms.

Walmart Marketplace · Margin Floor v2

HOLD
Net margin8.1%
Policy floor14%
Landed cost$81.79
Why this decision was madeResulting margin 8.1% is below the 14% floor once the Walmart referral fee is taken from the $89 price and the $81.79 landed cost you supplied is counted. Commerce Gate answers HOLD; the repricer keeps the current price because it honors the verdict, not because Commerce Gate changed anything on Walmart.

What it catches

The failures Walmart Marketplace operators search for.

Commerce Gate does not replace your ERP, repricer, connector or agents. It decides, action by action, whether what they are about to do on Walmart Marketplace is allowed under the policy you publish.

  • Repricer drops a price under cost once the Walmart referral fee is counted
  • An order gets acknowledged for stock the channels disagree about, then cancelled
  • Out-of-stock cancellations push the seller cancellation rate past Walmart's threshold
  • A refund request exceeds what the order has left to refund
  • A support tool refunds the same line twice, or refunds more than anyone should approve unattended

What Commerce Gate reads on Walmart Marketplace, and what it may write.

Seller-scoped OAuth 2.0 with the order scope (read and write) and the pricing scope (read only); no inventory scope is requested today. The connection is used to read orders and to run the lifecycle actions an operator confirms. Price and inventory verdicts are enforced by the tool that asked, not by Commerce Gate writing to Walmart.

Orders

incoming Walmart orders are read and the acknowledgment decision can be enforced; ship, cancel and refund are sent only when an operator confirms them, and a refund is first checked against your refund policy (refundable balance, unattended limit, repeat refund) with a signed dossier

Prices

your repricer or agent sends the proposed price and landed cost; Commerce Gate returns the verdict and never writes a Walmart price

Inventory

your ERP or agent sends the quantity it intends to publish; Commerce Gate returns the verdict and never reads or writes live Walmart inventory

Fees

the Walmart referral fee is counted from the schedule you keep on the Price Guard page, per SKU or product type with a default, 15% when unset; Walmart's published fees by category are shown beside it

What happens if Decionis is unreachable, platform by platform

Each platform has its own answer. Walmart order acknowledgment and Adobe Commerce checkout fail open: if Decionis can't be reached, the order or checkout goes through and the gap is recorded. Shopify checkout fails closed by default, rule by rule, so a margin rule keeps protecting you; you can set individual rules to fail open. Its post-order inventory check only records a decision and never touches the order. Business Central has one company-wide setting, FAIL_OPEN or FAIL_CLOSED, and defaults to FAIL_OPEN. When an AI agent asks the CommerceGate MCP and gets an error instead of an answer, the agent must treat it as HOLD. Walmart refunds are rejected when the order is in the wrong state or the amount exceeds what is left to refund. A refund above the unattended limit in your policy escalates to a named approver, and a second refund on the same line is held for review; if the refund policy check itself cannot be reached, refunds up to the connector's fallback limit proceed and larger ones are held until it recovers.

Shadow first. Enforce when the evaluation has earned it.

Start in Shadow Mode: Commerce Gate replays your recent Walmart orders against the starter policy and shows which acknowledgments it would have held and why. When you turn enforcement on, it withholds those acknowledgments for real. Price and inventory checks stay evaluation-only: your tools ask, get the verdict, and act on it.

  1. Connect Walmart

Authorize seller-scoped OAuth. Commerce Gate starts reading orders in watch-only mode; nothing on Walmart changes.

  2. Review the 90-day order evaluation

See which of your recent Walmart orders would have been held, why, and how much order value was reviewed. Historical orders are not touched.

  3. Turn on acknowledgment enforcement

Flip one switch and policy-breaking orders are held before acknowledgment. Ship, cancel and refund stay operator-confirmed; price and inventory stay evaluation-only.
