Shopify · Cost-basis margin floor
Shopify · Live · On the App Store as Decionis Checkout Gate
Commerce Gate for Shopify, listed on the App Store as Decionis Checkout Gate, stops a Shopify checkout that would sell below your margin floor, at the moment of checkout, inside Shopify Functions. Three Functions do the work: checkout validation blocks completion, the discount Function rejects an entered code that would stack below the floor, and the payment Function can hide payment methods. After the order, a separate Shopify Flow step records when a variant's inventory has dropped under your floor, so you see it before the next sale does.

What it catches
Commerce Gate does not replace your ERP, repricer, connector or agents. It decides, action by action, whether what they are about to do on Shopify is allowed under the policy you publish.
Installed as an embedded app from the Shopify App Store with the scopes shown at install. Shopify Functions return the checkout, discount or payment decision; the Flow step records the inventory decision. The app never holds, cancels, edits or refunds an order and never changes a price.
line items, cart totals, the discount code being entered and the payment methods offered, each in its own Shopify Function
the product-level decionis.estimated_cost metafield, synced from the lowest variant cost. A product with no cost is treated as zero cost, so keep costs filled in; SAP cost comparison runs in the post-order Flow step, not at checkout
after the order, a Flow step reads the variant's Shopify inventory quantity and checks it against your floor. It looks at Shopify only; it does not compare another marketplace
The default is fail closed, so your margin floor keeps protecting you when the check can't complete. Set any rule to fail open where letting the sale through matters more. The post-order inventory check only records a decision and never touches the order.
Shadow Mode is free with no time limit. The app starts by looking back 14 days and showing which checkouts and discounts would have been blocked, so you see the leakage before any rule is enforced. Every paid plan on the Shopify App Store includes a 14-day trial.
Review the scopes shown at install, set your margin floor, and choose per rule whether checkout should fail closed (default) or fail open if Decionis can't be reached.
See the checkouts that would have been blocked and the codes that would have been rejected. Historical orders are not changed.
Checkout, discount and payment rules enforce inside Shopify Functions from that moment. The post-order Flow step keeps recording inventory-floor decisions without touching the order.
